Earlier today, the Purchase Fire Department laid to rest one of our own, Ex-Captain Cosmo Policriti. Cosmo served the Fire Department proudly for 50 years and held numerous titles during his lifetime.
He will be remembered most for his love and dedication of cooking for the members. You could always count on Cosmo being there early on a Wednesday to start cooking his famous chili for the members. He loved his fire department bowling leagues, golf outings, clam bakes, and German nights.
Cosmo spent a career employed by the Harrison Central School District as a bus driver and custodian. Some of our members can remember Cosmo driving them back to school in the 1960’s listening to the 8-track. Cosmo dedicated his life to selflessly serving others in his community. His passing truly ends a chapter in the Purchase Fire Department. He was the youngest in a generation of life members in our family.
A special Thank you to the following Fire Departments for covering us and allowing us to pay respect to one of our beloved members.
