The Purchase Fire Department was honored to take part in the Memorial Day ceremony held at PepsiCo headquarters in Purchase, NY. This event was part of Rolling Remembrance, a powerful annual tribute launched by PepsiCo in 2015.

Rolling Remembrance is a 14,000+ mile relay of the American flag, carried across the country by PepsiCo’s network of U.S. military veteran drivers. Following standard business routes, the flag is passed from driver to driver, journeying from Seattle to New York in honor of fallen service members.

The flag itself holds deep significance—it flew aboard a UH-60M Blackhawk Helicopter during a combat mission in Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province in 2012, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Funds raised through this initiative benefit the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which provides college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. To date, PepsiCo has raised approximately $2 million for this vital cause.
